Workflow

Sawmill Line Workflow: Logs

1. Debarking

· Purpose: Remove outer bark for clean, high-quality lumber and to protect saw blades.·Process: Logs pass through a debarking machine using rotating rollers or mechanicalscrapers to strip off bark.

2. Sawing

· Purpose: Convert logs into rough boards or billets.

· Process: Logs are cut with a band saw, circular saw, or frame saw, depending on the equipment.

3. Re-Sawing

· Purpose: Reduce board thickness or adjust dimensions to desired sizes.

· Process: Rough-cut boards are reprocessed in a re-sawing machine into thinner planks or sections.

4. Edging

· Purpose: Trim rough or uneven edges to achieve uniform width and improved appearance.

·Process: Boards pass through an edging machine that removes excess edges, producingstraight, ready-to-use lumber.
